
Xushnud G‘ayratovich Xudoyberdiyev was born on 7 June 1989 in Chiroqchi district, Qashqadaryo region. He graduated with honours from Tashkent State University of Law in 2010 and completed a master’s degree there in criminal procedure, criminalistics and forensic science in 2012.
He taught at the same university (2010–2013), served as legal counsel at the Council of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan (2013–2017) while also working as chief specialist in the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office. In December 2019 he was appointed to the Republican Council for Higher Education. From January to July 2020 he directed the Public Fund for the Support and Development of National Mass Media, and from 1 July 2020 he served as deputy director general of the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA), becoming first deputy in August 2023.
His media career began in 2011 when he co-founded the news site kun.uz with Muhrim A’zamxo‘jayev, Diyor Imomxo‘jayev and Qahramon Aslanov. He has run the personal site xushnudbek.uz since 2012, and the Telegram channel he opened in 2018 grew into one of the country’s largest personal channels (600,000+ subscribers). A member of the “Zakovat” intellectual club since 2004, he is a four-time champion (2007, 2009, 2011, 2016) and a nine-time Premier League finalist.
His awards include the “Oltin qalam” national journalism prize (2014), the “Badge of Uzbekistan” (2016), the “Legal Advocacy High Achiever” badge and the “Builder of the Future” medal (2019). He launched the Lolazor podcast in November 2023 and is its host and principal organiser.
